Steve Earle

In the strictest sense, Steve Earle isn’t a country artist; he’s a roots rocker. Earle emerged in the mid-80s, after Bruce Springsteen had popularized populist rock & roll and Dwight Yoakam had kick-started the neo-traditionalist movement in country music. At first, Earle appeared to be more indebted to the rock side than country, as he played a stripped-down net-rockabilly style that occasionally verged on outlaw country.

Creekside Pavillion

Epperly Mills Creek side Pavilion is a natural Amphitheater. Situated on our one and a half acre grounds next to Dodd creek, the stage is next to the creek and in front of the wooded, blue stone hillside. The creek follows the grounds, and a natural curve is created. Along with the rolling hillside and hardwood trees opposite the stage and dotting the grounds, you will experience a premier acoustical outdoor performance.

The 12 x 24 foot stage can accommodate a much larger band than the “ hickory stage” indoors and will be featuring an eclectic mix of genres. We also welcome dance and theatre performances.

All of our shows on the mill grounds are designed around the idea of a small footprint, one day festival. Feel free to bring a blanket and your own chairs. Some picnic tables are provided for sharing.

Tickets are available thru our web site and at the gate if not sold out

All shows are general admission and are on a first come, first to the stage basis.  We have good site lines throughout the grounds and acoustics are great from anywhere onsite.

Food options are plentiful with fresh, clean and healthy cuisines from Two Trees Catering.

Bar service is provided with several bottled beer options many wines, and a few top shelf liquors.

Parking is provided adjacent to the mill on a first come, first park policy. Overflow parking requires a short, free shuttle from the Crenshaw Lighting Complex parking lot just up the road.

Our outdoor venue at the mill is on a rolling lawn and can be difficult for some folks to navigate. we are happy to accommodate our ADA guests.

Ample restrooms and hand washing stations are provided.

The Hickory Stage

The Epperly Mill is proud to welcome you into our listening room. We feature local, regional and national touring bands and artists in a one of a kind listening environment.

This historic Grist Mill has been transformed into a listening space for those of us who enjoy listening to the performers without disturbance. The naturally rich acoustics can be attributed to the 120 year old, posts, beams and original floors. Along with the natural sound diffusers between floor joists, you have a room with superior sound and warmth.

The act’s presented at the mill will be impressed, by the attentive crowd, the rich acoustics, and the professional sound system that is provided. We strive to take great care of the musicians and performers and we understand “ the rigors of the road”

The low rise stage is comfortable for up to a four piece band, and perfect for three piece or solo acts

All artists are provided a beautiful greenroom in the Kimball suite, with a wide array of food and drink selections. Housing at the mill in both, the Kimball, and Coleman suites is also provided if desired.

For the guests, along with the great experience of the music itself, the mill offers an impressive selection of global soul foods and bar services. We have a nice selection of craft beers, several wines and a few top shelf cocktails. Arrive early, grab some food and drink and walk the beautiful grounds along Dodd creek, admire the century old rock walls and dams, towering old walnut, cherry, elm and sycamore trees and surrounding views before settling in for a great night of music in a warm and inviting setting.

The food options, along with the bar service is situated just outside of the mill and listening room. Right along the creek, guests can mingle outside if they wish to converse, and the music can still be heard and enjoyed.

Here at the mill we enforce a “please be quiet” policy.

While the artists love the audience to applaud, laugh, and even sing along, too much conversation can be a distraction to other listeners and the performers, who deserve the respect of all audience members.

We encourage talking before the show, at set breaks and after the show. We strongly encourage audience members not to talk during the show. If you are warned multiple times, you will be politely asked to leave.
